Why do protestants or evangelicals use hell for terrorize the people if they don't accept christ ?

I am catholic and I attended in a house a small service.. I think the family of my friend used lies because it was about her baby.. but she wasn't presented during the service or Biblical study because she has to take care of her baby.. and the pastor told us about the Holy Spirit and which is.. and they pray for me that I should accept Christ in order to have a good life or if I don't accept him I will live in a hell..well I didn't say anything.. so another thing it's in my town in mx.. there is a park and many preachers go to the park and a man with a microphone screaming please accept christ people or you will live in an eternal hell if you don't do now when you die you will go to hell..why is that? I am catholic and I haven't heard those things.. maybe hell but never the non-catholics going to hell.. my priest told me even those christians can go to heaven for their devotion..
