Is my dog an alpha male?

I would say that he is. But, you have got to do something about the way he acts with his basket and bones. You need to let him know that you have the right to take anything from him. You need to let him know that you are the master. The "leader of the pack". I have a 22 month old american rottweiler, a 15 month old mastiff/lab mix, and a 6 month old german sheppard/lab mix. And all three of them could be eating a juicy steak and I could walk up and take it from them. It is not good that your dog acts like he is the leader in your home. You should be able to just walk up and take a bone or food bowl or whatever it may be away from the dog. Not saying you should do it all the time, just saying that he should be trained to "wait" if he ever needs to "wait".
