Problem opening e-mail requiring windows media player?

When I recieve an e-mail requiring wmp. I get the following message when I click on open. "This program does not have a file ociated with it, for performing this action. Create an ociation in the folder options control panel.I have been in folder options, but it is not evident what I need to do, please help. thanks
